Munkebo Datacenter
Premium local hosting from a highly distributed infrastructure platform consisting of exactly one server, one owner, one household, and several strongly held opinions about uptime.
Welcome to the edge. Morten's edge.
Munkebo Datacenter is a small, independent hosting provider owned and operated by Morten Jensen. Our flagship facility, DK-FYN-1, is engineered around a revolutionary single-node architecture: if the server is on, the cloud is on.
We provide artisanal compute, handcrafted routing, and a service-level agreement written mostly in spirit. Every packet is personally encouraged on its journey through Munkebo.
Current status: probably fine
Monitoring is performed by refreshing the page, listening for fan noise, and occasionally asking “is the internet slow for you too?”
Enterprise features, residential consequences

- Backed by reliable EnergiFyn with Alexander Larsen on speed-dial for fast disaster recovery
- Maintenance window: when the vacuum cleaner needs the outlet

- Support tickets accepted verbally, loudly, or via passive-aggressive group chat
- 24/7/ish response, depending on whether Morten is awake
- Root cause analysis delivered after beer
Disaster recovery plan
Our datacenter has a reliable backup technician (Mortens girlfriend) who'll respond in case of an unexpected outage if Morten is not available (Morten will guide her to the power button).
In severe incidents, escalation proceeds through our mature four-step process: notice silence, blame DNS, call Morten, press button.

Hosting plans
| Plan | Includes | Availability target | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shared Concern | One website, one database, one polite request not to run crypto miners. | Best effort, unless the server is busy being a server. | Ask Morten |
| Dedicated Maybe | A dedicated folder and an emotional support cron job. | Higher, emotionally. | Ask Morten twice |
| Enterprise Local | Priority reboot, namedropping rights, and a laminated DK-FYN-1 architecture diagram. | Discussed during onboarding. | Consultancy invoice |
Why choose DK-FYN-1?
- Eco-friendly air-cooled server (It's in a shed).
- No confusing multi-region failover because there is only one region.
- Transparent architecture: you can explain the whole platform with one finger.
- Datacenter tours available by appointment. Beer mandatory.
- Munkebo is unlikely to randomly get hit by a foreign object.
